We're not sure about you, but we feels as though the world is becoming a "throw-away" society - none more so than in todays world of fast fashion.

We've been around for a very long time & we've seen many changes over those years - some for the better & some for the worse, both here and abroad, but one thing has always remained true - we have always done our very best to meet all of our legal and ethical obligations as employers and also reduce our impact on our enviroment amd society.

Corporate Responsibility is always front of mind at Screenprint Concepts. We are comitted to sourcing garments from partners whose ethos matches our own.

Our two main partners, AS Colour and Gildan Brands, are both comitted to producing garments ethically, sustainably and Corporately responsibly.

AS Colour believe its the responsibilty of every individual to be a good citizen, and while they may be a smaller player in the global market, they believe that their impact on human rights can be just as significant as larger operations.

AS Colour are committed to:

  • Transparency in supply chains
  • Responsible, ethical sourcing
  • Labour standards that require fair, legal & humane working conditions for all in their supply chain.

CARING FOR THEIR PEOPLE: A commitment to maintaining industry-leading working conditions and labour practices at each of their worldwide locations.

CONSERVING THE ENVIRONMENT: A commitment to the development and implementation of sustainable innovative solutions that reduce the environmental impact of their operations and products throughout their entire supply chain.

CREATING STRONGER COMMUNITIES: A commitment to contribute to their communities and have a positive impact by helping them become stronger and more resilient.

WRAP is an independent, objective, non-profit team of global social compliance experts dedicated to promoting safe, lawful, humane, and ethical manufacturing around the world through certification and education. Their primary activity is factory certification programs, mainly focused on the apparel, footwear, and sewn products sectors.

We choose to source our garments from suppliers that are WRAP certified and share the same comitment to responsible apparel production.

If a textile article carries the STANDARD 100 label, you can be certain that every component of this article, i.e. every thread, button and other accessories, has been tested for harmful substances and that the article therefore is harmless in human ecological terms. The test is conducted by our independent OEKO-TEX® partner institutes on the basis of our extensive OEKO-TEX® criteria catalog. In the test they take into account numerous regulated and non-regulated substances, which may be harmful to human health. In many cases the limit values for the STANDARD 100 go beyond national and international requirements.

The Sustainable Apparel Coalition is the apparel, footwear and home textile industry’s foremost alliance for sustainable production. The coalition’s main focus is on building the Higg Index, a standardized supply chain measurement tool for all industry participants to understand the environmental and social and labor impacts of making and selling their products and services. By measuring sustainability performance, the industry can address inefficiencies, resolve damaging practices, and achieve the environmental and social transparency that consumers are starting to demand. By joining forces in a Coalition, we can address the urgent, systemic challenges that are impossible to change alone.

What do we mean by sweatshop free?

For Screenprint Concepts, being sweatshop free has always meant:

  • Employees are paid fairly and in accordance with all State and Federal Laws
  • Employee's are always of a legal age
  • Our goods are printed in an environment that affords our employees comfortable and fair working conditions.
  • Our Employees are able to voice their ideas or concerns freely & without fear or favour.
  • We source garments from likeminded Suppliers whose ethos is in line with our own.

We are  accredited by the TCFUA and audited on a yearly basis.

While sweatshops unfortunately still exist, predominantly in developing countries, our committment to a sweatshop free business has never been difficult. We feel that its our responsibility to ensure that we're doing our part to become part of the solution. We're hopeful that the future of the apparel industry includes the idea that apparel produced in an ethical manner is the norm rather than the exception.
